Girl in the Tangerine Scarf

I picked this one up at the Newberry sale last year. It looked interesting. Story is about a Muslim family living in Indiana. The daughter is the narrator and it examines how she deals with high school and relationships while living in America but not really being from America. How do you become accepted when you straddle so many different worlds? It was ok - not the best book ever and seemed to create its own stereotypes for the characters. I left this one in a hotel room in Portland, OR.
